Anyone around?
« on: December 01, 2008, 12:29:17 pm »

Well, i know the answer is "no", unless everyone is playing on another server. So the real question is, does anyone have any plans on coming back to Monolith?
So far the only person i see on is Shrapnel.

My update: took a couple of weeks off as i was gone on computer-less vacation, i am back now, Bruzah is 29/25 at the moment.
There are still plenty of people on Monolith, and the pvp action is there, at least in tier3. I miss you guys!

I've already burnt out on my MMO needs. Each MMO addiction gets shorter and shorter. I think I'm pretty much done with MMOs in general now. WAR is an awesome game though.

Hey Ash,

I am on a hiatus while "trying" wow expansion out.  The ORVR wasnt quite enough to keep me from taking the plunge.  I do plan to partake of war again asap.  However for the moment I am on hiatus.

My current plan is to level to 80, and enjoy the ride!  The quests are fantabulous and the content seems rock solid.  Then I will give war another shot in the hopes the time has been beneficial to the ORVR.  The pve content was good, but it didnt seem to hook me like I had hoped.  From everything I can see the fortress taking and general movement toward city capture is pretty much "horrid" in WAR for now.  I am confident they will fix it and make it gooder, but untill then, I am reluctant to grind up.

I am currently playing on Skull Throne as Order Smiley I got tired of no one being around so decided to move to an extremely active server. I have three toons in T2 and have had lots of ORvR action. I do occassionally log into Monolith but its pretty much just Schrapnel during the hours I play.

How are you liking Order Kel?  I think it would get frustrating to always have 100vs 20 Smiley

PVE is still boring..
PvP life is getting better though, i definitely see a lot more orvr action.
Bruzah is entering a t3 badass stage too, being 29 and all. I am in 3/4 devastator set, and the last piece is waiting for rr25 (one more to go).
I am trying to figure out how to max out the rp contribution from pvp, and i dont even look at the experience bar much, though its filling up pretty fast by doing scenarios only (15k for a win, plus another 6k from turn in quests, unrested exp). Losses are not bad either, usually 4-10k +3-6k turn in.
On a good run i can rake in 2-2.5k renown for a run of Highpass Cemetery for example.

Mos tof the rvr runs are alot more blitz like nowadays. People have worked out the steps they need to follow at a siege, and a warband can roll over a fortress pretty fast now unless there is a full warband defending. People just focus fire the keep boss and take him out in under 2 minutes.
Hugest problem i got with the game still is that tier one is pretty much dead. You gotta be playing in the tier where the action is at, and now its T3+.

Havn't noticed this in T2 yet. I think Skull throne is fairly even.

As noted, i'm still around.  T4 sc's are boring me atm.  Serpent's Passage is the only one that pops atm.  Kinda burning me out a lil.  Kinda reminds me of the ole WSG days when it was  the only bg in game.  I rolled a sorcerer who is now in t3.  Kinda miss WOW *shakes fist* but a good 4 rlf's recently made the switch, so I have some order stomping to look forward to at least.

Nice to somebody is still playing WAR!  I am at a location where I can't game online and will be here until late January.  I suspect you all will be burnt in WAR by then and the raids in WOW will be way above my knowledge level..  That doesn't take a lot though hehe.  I am keeping busy playing a solo game here 'Hellgate London' that Row put me onto before I left.  Keeps my fingures limber  Roll Eyes  Have a Blademaster to level 16.  Kinda boring but it helps pass the time.

Miss you guys and the REAL gaming experience..

We miss you here too shog,
really weird to see no transcendents on. The game is still fun, and mythic is putting a lot of work and thought into it. They are desperately trying to pull people away from scenaios and into rvr, and there is new cool stuff on the way. I wish we had some people back, half a level and we can claim keeps as a guild. I wonder if doing so will rake in a lot of guild experience as well...

Maybe after folks tire of WoW they will give WAR a try. They really are putting alot of effort into the game and it is alot of fun. There is a huge difference from Monolith to Skull Throne though as there seems to be alot more ORvR going on. Monolith would be fine if we could pull the numbers as a guild to do stuff but we just can't atm so I think I will stick to Skull Throne until we get some more people back.

What toons did you roll on Skull Throne Kel?   Spoze I need to try those order folks some day but I am still likin the BO?

Looks like it's up to you and Schrapnel to get the Guild level there Ash.  Sounds like you both are doing it though.   Hang in there - we will rise again!  Smiley

Yesterday's patch was a major re balancing of classes, every talent tree got reset.
To sum it up, Bright Wizards got slightly nerfed, and so did some "on the move" healing. Black Orcs, Marauders and chosen barely got changed, i guess they were fine. The rest got buffed. Squigs and warrior priests most noticeably...

Also two new careers came into play... The knights of the blazing sun for order and the blackguards for the dark elves.
For the heck of it i made a character on skull throne yesterday, a bright wizard named Honred.
It was amusing, because everyone else was either the knight of the blazing sun or a blackguard. Some scenarios literally had the destruction team consist entirely of blackguards, in which case they rolled over us repeatedly =)

I did make a knight myself, and played him to level 2. At which point i took a look at the skill tree down to level 40 and realized i am not interested in playing that class.
It was a boring version of black orc, more survival and less damage... At least that was my impression. Have not tried the blackguard, but they looked like fun running around with those halberds.

One thing about skull throne, people were very vocal in the regional chat. Some of it was interesting. For example it sounded like Mythic had plans to bring back the dwarven slayers. That probably means that Orc choppa will make a come back as well.
